The VSBA (Volunteer State Book Award) program is our state book award here in TN. Every year a committee puts together a list of books that are high quality and enjoyable literature for young people. Students are encouraged to read books from these lists and at the end of the year if the student has read at least 3 they can vote for their favorite. Students all across TN vote and a state wide winner is announced usually in May. You can visit the website at www.tasltn.org/vsba and see current and past lists as well as winners from previous years.
My goal this year is to put together read alouds from this years list and have them available on this website so all our students can participate.
Lists are broken down in age groups with primary being mainly for K-2nd grades and Intermediate being 3rd-5th grades.
